The Temptation - Alisa Valdes

 The Temptation
Release date: 2012

His touch was electric.
His eyes were magnetic.
His lips were a temptation....
But was he real?

After crashing her car on an empty highway, Shane is miraculously saved by Travis, a mysterious cowboy who walks out of nowhere. She is instantly attracted to him, and for the first time, she believes in “soul mates.” But Shane soon discovers that Travis is dead and that strict rules from the Underworld govern kindred spirits of different dimensions. Breaking these rules could destroy both their souls. And while Travis is almost impossible to resist, temptation proves to be the kindest enemy they encounter.

Can true love surpass the power of pure evil? Part love story, part supernatural thriller, this first book in the Kindred trilogy will leave readers lusting for more!

I hate it when I've waited a long time to read a book and then it turns out to be a huge dissappointment. I really wanted to like this book, I mean the summary looked really promising! The cover is okay and I just wanted it to be great. The book is about Shane (don't like the name for a girl), I couldn't relate to her at all. She was overly dramatic and annoying. The romance between her and Travis happened to quickly and I didn't get it. It was silly and there wasn't even tension between them. Then Travis is suppose to be the mystery guy here, but his secret is revealed way too soon and isn't very suspenseful. Then there is ofcourse the boyfriend Logan, but the isn't really a conflict between Shane, Travis and Logan. It was kind of weird and not believable at all. The end kept room for the second book, but I've had enough so I won't be reading that one. I wouldn't recommend to spend time on this one.
